Funeral services will be Monday, January 19, 2015, at 11 a.m. in Young Family Funeral Home, Kendallville Chapel.
Calling is Sunday, January 18, 2015, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the funeral home and one hour prior to services on Monday. ********************************************************************************** Michael A. Chester, 53, of Kendallville died unexpectedly Tuesday, January 13, 2015, in his residence.
He was a lifetime area resident.
Mr. Chester was property manager for Avilla Mobile Home Park for over 30 years.
He was a member of the International Scale Ship Modelers Association.
Mike was an avid remote control boat designer and builder and participated in competitions. He enjoyed bowling on the Kendallville Bowling League with his brother.
He was born January 8, 1962, in Fort Wayne to Lyle and Adelee (Matter) Chester.
On August 20, 1983, in Albion he married Lisa R. Leatherman. She survives in Kendallville.
Also surviving are a brother, Dudley (Cheryl) Chester of Kendallville; mother-in-law, Shirley (Greg) Garrison of Stroh; father-in-law, Robert (Jan) Leatherman of Avilla; sister-in-law, LaDena (Max) Weaver of Avilla; three nieces, Stacey Martin of Kendallville, Rebecca Godsey of Kendallville, and Nicole (Chris) Streb of Kendallville; two nephews, Jeremy Martin of Wolcottville and Brent (Tiffany) Chester of Albion; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Deborah Martin.
Funeral services will be Monday, January 19, 2015, at 11 a.m. in Young Family Funeral Home, Kendallville Chapel, 222 South State Street, Kendallville with Pastor Mike Albaugh of Destiny Family of Faith in Kendallville officiating. Burial will be in Lake View Cemetery, Kendallville.
Pallbearers will be Brent Chester, Jeremy Martin, Dave Traster, Cody Cole, Paul Harper, Jr., and David Harper.
Calling is Sunday, January 18, 2015, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the funeral home and one hour prior to services on Monday.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are to the Noble County Humane Society or the American Cancer Society.
