Melody Gay Huffman, 60, of Kendallville, Indiana, died Saturday, January 15, 2022, at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne. She was born April 8, 1961, in Kendallville, Indiana, to John and Ione (Linthicum) Kitchen. On July 25, 1987, in Kendallville she married Brett Alan Huffman. He survives in Kendallville. Mrs. Huffman had worked at Hickory Creek Nursing Home in Kendallville. Also surviving are a daughter, Lisa Huffman of Fort Wayne; a son, Ethan Huffman of Albion; three grandchildren, Logan Brantly Huffman, Addylyn Rose Bodman and Lily Renae Nichols; five sisters, Marie (Dan) Donat of Mt. Vernon, Washington, Marilyn Klinefelter of Warsaw, Marceil Ritter of Loveland, Colorado, Marica Kay (Mike) Wooten of Wawaka and Mary Beha of Albany, Ohio; and two brothers, John (Marcia) Kitchen of Rome City and Michael (Denise) Kitchen of Crown Point. She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Maxine Hunter; and a brother, Kenneth Kitchen. A memorial service will be Thursday, January 20, 2022, at 4 p.m. at Young Family Funeral Home, Wolcottville Chapel, State Road 9 North, Wolcottville with Pastor Regan Ford of the First Church of God in Kendallville officiating.
