IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Melissa
Bishop
January 12, 1966 – March 7, 2026
Visitation
Funeral Service
Melissa "Missy" Bishop, 60, of Kendallville, Indiana went to be with Jesus on Saturday, March 7, 2026, at her residence.
She was born January 12, 1966, in Kendallville to Billy R. and Barbara J. (Howard) Moore.
On June 24, 2001, in Kendallville, she married Randall Bishop, the man God had placed in her life to walk beside her. Even as her body struggled, her spirit remained unshaken. With the Lord's help, she gathered her strength and walked those final few feet to meet him at the altar. It was a moment that showed her faith, her courage, and her trust that God would carry her where her own strength could not. In that walk, you could see her heart: determined, devoted, and held firmly in God's hands.
Missy loved the Lord with a steady, radiant faith that shaped everything she did. She was a bright and shining light, one that never dimmed even as her body grew weak. Illness may have confined her, but it never defined her—her spirit remained strong, hopeful, and full of grace.
Even from her bed, she found ways to lift others up. She didn't just speak of God's love; she lived it in quiet, faithful ways. She enjoyed sewing, arranging flowers, baking, tending plants, and using her creativity to brighten someone's day. Her card ministry became a lifeline of hope, each note a reminder that God sees and cares. And every Christmas, she and her sister Wendy prepared "gift of love" bags for nursing home residents—simple acts that carried Christ's compassion.
Missy showed us what faith looks like in real life, quiet, steady, and unwavering. She faced her hardest days with courage, with kindness, and with a trust in God that inspired everyone around her. Her life was a testimony, and her legacy is the love she poured into so many.
Surviving are her husband Randall Bishop of Kendallville; a daughter, Shaylee (Joshua) Holland of Pullman, Washington; a sister, Wendy Moore of Kendallville; a brother, Billy (Elizabeth) Moore, Jr. of Garrett; her stepmother, Kathay Moore of Angola; two stepsisters, Shawnee (Rick) Likes of Angola and Angela VanDyne of Angola; a daughter and son adopted in love, Derek and Marrissa Iddings of LaGrange; and five grandchildren adopted in love, Nehemiah, Selah, Genesis, Ruth, and Abigail.
Funeral services will be Saturday, March 14, 2026, at 1 p.m. at Biblical Baptist Church, 6170 E 700 S, Wolcottville, with Pastor Derek Iddings officiating.
Visitation will also be on Saturday, beginning at 11 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at the church.
Preferred memorials are to the family.
