Maulta Ritchie, 79, of Kendallville, Indiana, died Thursday, December 2, 2021, at Parkview Noble Hospital in Kendallville.
She was born October 11, 1942, in Ajax, Kentucky, to Jacob and Mary Ellen (Combs) Jones.
On June 4, 1958, in Fisty, Kentucky, she married Dallas Ritchie.
Mrs. Ritchie and her husband moved to this area from Fisty, Kentucky.
She worked at Starcraft Marine in Topeka for many years and retired from Supreme Corporation in Goshen.
Maulta enjoyed cooking. Family and her grandchildren meant the world to her.
Surviving are three sons, Tommy Lee (Lorrie) Ritchie of Wolcottville, Larry Ritchie of LaGrange, and Wendell Ritchie of LaGrange; nine grandchildren, Alicia (Jim) Randol, Stacey (Kyle Fox) Gillespie, Shayna Ritchie, Nicole (Doug) Bush, Stephanie (Adam) Hallett, Ryan (Kate ) Ritchie, Kyle Ritchie, Heather (Marvin) Moore, and Ashley (Aaron) Carman; and 12 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dallas Ritchie on May 24, 2014; and brothers and sisters, Adrian Jones, Carl Jones, Richard Jones, Charlie Jones, Lester Jones, Little Joe Jones, Elizabeth Owens, Anna Faye Combs, and Angeline Bentley.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, December 7, 2021, at 1:30 p.m. at Bethel Christian Baptist Church, 2838 E. US 6, Kendallville (at the intersection of US 6 and State Road 9 North) with Pastor Jimmy Shepherd officiating.
Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery in LaGrange.
Pallbearers are Greg Williams, Aaron Carman, Marvin Moore, Kyle Ritchie, Dylan Grocock, and Kyle Fox.
Visitation is Monday, December 6, 2021, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the church and one hour prior to the service on Tuesday.
Young Family Funeral Home, Wolcottville Chapel, State Road 9 North Wolcottville is assisting the family with arrangements.
