Matthew L. Hisey, 45, of Brimfield died unexpectedly Friday, April 28, 2023, at his residence.

He was born March 18, 1978 in Kendallville to Jimmie Hisey, Sr. and Joan Cook.

Matthew had worked at American Finishing and Rural King.

Matthew enjoyed looking for arrowheads with his brother, Ken, reading the Bible, and woodworking. He also loved animals.

Surviving are his mother, Joan Cook of Brimfield; two brothers, Ken Hisey of Brimfield, and Jimmie Hisey, Jr. of Brimfield; an aunt, Carolyn Cook of Howe; a cousin, John Dixon of Kendallville; and numerous uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father, Jimmie Hisey, Sr.; paternal grandparents, Steve and Pat Dixon; an uncle and aunt, Don and Wanita Hisey.

Private family services were held at Young Family Funeral Home, Kendallville Chapel, 222 South State Street, Kendallville.

Burial was in Orange Cemetery near Brimfield.

Preferred memorials are to the family for funeral expenses.
