Obituary

Mary Sue Wicker, 65, of Wolcottville died unexpectedly on Sunday, July 7, 2019, at 2:47 a.m. at her residence.

She was born August 24, 1953, in Garrett, Kentucky, to Andrew and Callie (Hale) Scott.

On July 28, 1971, in Garrett, Kentucky, she married Morris V. Wicker. He survives in Wolcottville.

Mrs. Wicker had worked as a CNA at Presence Sacred Heart Home in Avilla. She attended Little Flossie Old Regular Baptist Church.

Mary loved watching Kentucky basketball. Her grandbabies and family gatherings were most important to her.

Also surviving are three daughters, Stephanie (Jason) Thornsberry of Avilla, Christel (Anthony) Dutt of Fort Wayne, and Kallie (Chance) Wildey of Kendallville; a son, Basil Wicker of Wolcottville; nine grandchildren, Sydney Thornsberry, Nathaniel Thornsberry, Haylee Wicker, Kayne Wicker, Riley Dutt, Ava Atz, Tyce Dutt, Lainey Wildey, and Lyndol Wildey; five sisters, Ima Hicks of Albion, Michigan, Irene (Ben) Talaska of Midland, Michigan, Sally (Darrell) Pratt of Garrett, Kentucky, Mattie (Terry) Triplett of Garrett, Kentucky, and Linda (Tom) Goike of Lakeland, Florida; and two brothers, Frank (Sharon) Scott of Garrett, Kentucky, and Rodney (Alicia) Scott of Price, Kentucky.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Wanda Reister and Elizabeth Scott; and three brothers, Ernest Scott, Randolph Scott, and Dan Scott.

Funeral services will be Thursday, July 11, 2019, at 11 a.m. at Little Flossie Old Regular Baptist Church, 159 Greenwood Drive, Kendallville with Elder Sean Hicks officiating. Burial will be in Orange Cemetery, Rome City.

Pallbearers are Morris Wicker, Anthony Dutt, Jason Thornsberry, Chance Wildey, Nathaniel Thornsberry, Zach Collins, and Kayne Wicker.

Calling is Tuesday, July 9, 2019, from 4 to 6 p.m. where there will be an evening service at 6 p.m. Calling will also be all day Wednesday, July 10, 2019, with an evening service at 6 p.m. Both callings and evening services will be held at Little Flossie Old Regular Baptist Church.

Preferred memorials are to the family for funeral expenses.
