Mary Ann Rowe, 69, of Blackman Lake, Wolcottville died Tuesday, February 12, 2008, at Bradenton Hospice Hospital in Bradenton, Florida, after suffering a stroke a week earlier.
Mrs. Rowe retired in 1994 after 33 years as a teacher at Northcrest Elementary School in Fort Wayne, teaching third, fourth, and fifth grades. She was a member of the South Milford United Methodist Church, the Odyssey Investment Club in LaGrange, the Friendship Club in Wolcottville, the Toastmasters Clubs of Kendallville and LaGrange, LaGrange Retired Teachers Association, and was past president and treasurer of the Historic Auto Club in Fort Wayne.
She was born December 28, 1938, in Mulberry, Indiana, to Floyd J. & Mary R. (Rothenberger) Ellis. On September 11, 1976, in Fort Wayne she married Russell R. "Bud" Rowe.
Surviving are her husband, Bud Rowe of Blackman Lake; one son, Michael Rowe of Lafayette; two grandchildren, Brandon Rowe and Kyla Rowe; one sister, Lois Jane Zellers of Kingmond, Indiana; and one brother, Sam W. Ellis of Lebanon, Indiana.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, John J. Ellis.
Services will be Tuesday, February 19, 2008, at 10:30 am at the South Milford United Methodist Church with visitation one hour prior to the service. Rev. Barbara Cross will officiate. Burial will be in Covington Memorial Park in Fort Wayne. Preferred memorials are to the donor\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'s choice.
Visitation will be Monday, February 18, 2008, from 4-7 pm at the Young Family Funeral Home, Kendallville Chapel, 222 South State Street, Kendallville.
