Mary Louise "Mary Lou" Morr, 89, of Kendallville, Indiana, died Friday, July 18, 2025, at Sacred Heart Village in Avilla.
She was born December 13, 1935, in Libertyville, Illinois, to Lester J. and Hannah Louise (Erickson) Jarrett.
On November 8, 1952, she married Philip Merle Morr. He survives in Kendallville.
Mrs. Morr was a homemaker. She was a member of Wayne Center United Methodist Church, VFW Post 2749 Auxiliary, and American Legion Post 86 Auxiliary all in Kendallville.
Mary Lou loved to read, sew, and do embroidery. She enjoyed working at the day care in her church. Her grandchildren fondly remember her tea parties and the special ways she made each party memorable.
Also surviving are three daughters, Vickie Nichols of Kendallville, Cindy (Greg) Krueckeberg of Kendallville, and Donna Baker and her fur baby, Tuna Lynne of Kendallville; a son, Gary (Pamela) Morr of Adrian, Michigan; five grandchildren, Brian (Tressa) Nichols, Matthew (Dawn) Nichols, Daniel (Kristy) Helmkamp, Andrew Helmkamp, and Aisleen Morr; 14 great-grandchildren, Reagan Nichols, T.J. (Annie) Nichols, Maggie Nichols, James Nichols, George Nichols, Sam Nichols, Desiree Nichols, Devon Nichols, Bella Nichols, Kaya (Patric) Mauzy, Kyler Helmkamp, Ava Helmkamp, Logan Helmkamp, and Oliver Branson; and a great great-grandson on the way.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Evelyn Tuttle; and seven brothers, Alton, Alvey, Jack, Lester, Harvey, Leland, and Larry Jarrett.
Visitation will be Wednesday, July 23, 2025, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Young Family Funeral Home, Kendallville Chapel, 222 South State Street, Kendallville.
Mary Lou's funeral service will be Wednesday, July 23, 2025, at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Ken Walker of the Wayne Center United Methodist Church officiating.
Burial will follow at Lake View Cemetery in Kendallville.
Pallbearers are Brian Nichols, Matthew Nichols, Daniel Helmkamp, Andrew Helmkamp, Kyler Helmkamp, and Devon Nichols.
Memorials may be directed to St. Jude Children's Hospital or Paralyzed Veterans of America.
