Mary Lou (Coleman) Cook, 91, of Kendallville, Indiana, died Monday, July 8, 2024, at Lutheran Life Villages in Kendallville.

She was born March 8, 1933, in Fort Wayne, Indiana, to John Gabriel and Mary Alice (Groves) Coleman.

She graduated from New Haven High School in 1951.

On March 9, 1968, she married William A. Cook. He preceded her in death in 1997. They worked together at Flint & Walling in Kendallville.

She was an active member of St. John Lutheran Church in Kendallville and served the church in many ways.

Mary Lou liked to read, sew, and play games on her iPad. She had a special love for gardening and became a master gardener. She was also active in other community organizations.

Surviving are her son, John Cook of Kendallville; a sister, Nancy L. Buckmaster of Kendallville; a sister-in-law, Linda Coleman of Fort Wayne; nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Ruth Ann Richter of Albion.

She was also preceded in death by a brother, John Coleman.

The funeral service will be Friday, July 12, 2024, at 11 a.m. at St. John Lutheran Church, 301 South Oak Street, Kendallville with visitation one hour prior to the service. Rev. Dr. Phillip Rigdon will officiate the service.

Burial will follow at Lake View Cemetery in Kendallville.
