Obituary

Mary Lois Armes, age 85, of Jonesboro, died Friday, February 10, 2012, at Marion General Hospital in Marion, IN.

Mary Lois was a homemaker and drove school bus for Mississinewa schools until the age of 81, resulting in over 40 years.

She graduated from Jonesboro High School. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Gas City.

Mary Lois was born on April 11, 1926, in Jonesboro to Clarence and Bertie (Atkinson) Spangler. She married George "Gene" Armes, Sr. on December 27, 1946. He preceded her in death on November 28, 1993.

Surviving are three daughters and sons-in-law and four sons and three daughters-in-law, including Gayle and Becky Armes, Fairmount, formerly of Wolcottville; 20 grandchildren, including Staci (Chad) Topper and Shaun (Kelly) Armes; and 26 great grandchildren, including Hunter, Carly,and Savanah Topper and Avree, Sydnee, & Brogan Armes.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, February 14, 2012, at 10 a.m. in Westview Wesleyan Church, 1300 W. 6th Street, Jonesboro with Rev, Ed Brown and Rev. Steve Armes officiating. Burial will be at Park Cemetery, Fairmount.

Visitation is Monday, February 13, 2012, from 2-8 p.m. in Armes-Hunt Funeral Home, 415 South Main Street, Fairmount and one hour prior to services at the church.

Memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church of Gas City.
