Obituary

Martha Combs, 83, of Rome City died Monday, March 28, 2016, in North Ridge Village Nursing Home, Albion.

She had lived in this area for 55 years, coming from Kentucky.

Mrs. Combs retired after 25 years as a CNA for Miller's Merry Manor in LaGrange.

She was a member of Liberty Free Will Baptist Church in Wolcottville.

Martha had the love of Jesus Christ in her heart. She greatly enjoyed her family and grandchildren and loved to cook.

She was born May 25, 1932, in Knott County, Kentucky, to David and Corsie (Begley) Ritchie.

In August, 1956, she married Ary Combs in Kentucky. He preceded her in death in 1977.

Surviving are a daughter, Carolyn (Mike) Miller of Rome City; two sons, Billy Ray (Gloria) Combs of Atwood Lake, Wolcottville and Eddie Dean (Darinda) Combs of Wolcottville; seven grandchildren, Jessica (Nate) Dicks, Timothy (Ashley) Miller, Serena (Eric) Easley, Brianna Combs, Jeremy Bailey, Daniel (Amanda) Taylor, and Katrina (Timothy) Sanders; and eight great-grandchildren, Alax Green, Paige Green, Nathaniel Easley, Lilly Easley, Christine Bailey-Musselman, Talon Taylor, Gabriel Taylor, and Luna Taylor.

She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Polly Ann Ritchie and Cindy Ritchie; three brothers, Willis Ritchie, Carlie Ritchie, and Monroe Ritchie.

Funeral services will be Thursday, March 31, 2016, at 10 a.m. in Liberty Free Will Baptist Church, 2900 E 1150 N, Wolcottville, with Pastor Billy Fields officiating. Burial will be in Orange Cemetery, Rome City.

Calling is Wednesday, March 30, 2016, from 2 to 8 p.m. in the church where there will be a 7 p.m. evening service. Calling will also be Thursday from 9 to 10 a.m.

Preferred memorials are to Liberty Free Will Baptist Church.

Young Family Funeral Home, Wolcottville Chapel, State Road 9 North, Wolcottville is assisting the family with arrangements.
