Marlene Suzan "Suzie" Gose, 62, of Ligonier died Friday, October 9, 2009, at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne.

Mrs. Gose was a lifetime area resident. She graduated from Ligonier High School in 1965. She had been a cosmetologist in Ligonier for many years.

Suzie was blessed to have received a lung transplant in March of 2006, which extended her life for another 3 ½ years. She loved spending time with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren.

She was born March 3, 1947, in Wolf Lake to Marlo and DonnaBelle (Staton) Strouse. She married Terry Gose in August, 1965.

Surviving are a son and his companion, Vince Gose and Vivian Thiel of Garrett; a daughter and son-in-law, Tammi and Sean Hicks of Ligonier; five grandsons, Private First Class Joseph Gose, Cody Tackett, Trey Sparks, Caleb Gose, and Tanner Hicks; a granddaughter, Cassidy Hicks; two brothers, Don Strouse of Goshen and Phil Strouse of Ligonier; three sisters, Kathy Cronk of Fort Wayne, Kim Short of Ligonier, and Karen Strouse of Ligonier; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her mother, DonnaBelle Hill and her father, Marlo Strouse.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, October 13, 2009, at 1:30 p.m. at Young Family Funeral Home, Kendallville Chapel, 222 South State Street, Kendallville, with Elder Russell Hicks of Little Flossie Old Regular Baptist Church, Kendallville officiating. Burial will be in Oak Park Cemetery, Ligonier.

Honorary casketbearers will be Caleb Gose, Tanner Hicks, and Cassidy Hicks.

Active casketbearers will be Joe Gose, Cody Tackett, Trey Sparks, Randy Cronk, Nathan Short, and Bobby Ritchie.

Calling will be Monday, October 12, 2009, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home and one hour prior to services on Tuesday.

Preferred memorials are to the family.
