Marlasue "Sue" Cross, 79, of Kendallville, Indiana, died Monday, February 19, 2024, at Stillwater Hospice Home in Fort Wayne.

She was born September 20, 1944, in Kendallville, Indiana, to Fred Samuel and Alyce Elyzabeth (Borg) Porter.

On October 26, 1963, in Kendallville she married Richard G. "Dick" Cross.

She had worked at J.C. Penney, Stroman's Electronics, and the Shell service station all in Kendallville.

Sue found joy in making handmade greeting cards and was known world-wide for her efforts. She would make as many as 50 cards a month and distribute them. She was also an MS Activist. As God always was first and foremost in her life, she would often be found praying for everyone that she could.

Surviving are her husband of 61 years, Richard G. "Dick" Cross of Kendallville; two daughters, Rychelle (Michael Weidler) Cross of Avilla and Jennyfer (Jack) Steckley of Waterloo; five grandchildren, Robert (Stacey) Kline, Jessica Kline, Erick Kline, Bryonna Steckley, and Sierra Steckley; two great-grandchildren, Gabryelle Kline and Sadie Kline; and a sister, Yvonne Greenfield of Auburn.

She was preceded in death by a grandson, Jayson Steckley; and a granddaughter, Heather Kline.

Visitation will be Thursday, February 22, 2024, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Young Family Funeral Home, Kendallville Chapel, 222 South State Street, Kendallville and Friday, February 23, 2024, from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m.

The funeral service will be Friday, February 23, 2024, at 10 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Brent Wedding officiating.

Burial will follow at Lake View Cemetery, Kendallville,

Pallbearers are Robert Kline, Jessica Kline, Erick Kline, Gabryelle Kline, and Jack Steckley.

Memorials may be directed to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Riley Hospital for Children.
