Mark Douglas Fugate, 51, of Rome City, Indiana, died unexpectedly on Monday, October 30, 2023, at the home of his brother in Wolcottville.

He was born April 20, 1972, in LaGrange, Indiana, to Danny Ray and Toni Lynn (Jordan) Fugate.

Mr. Fugate last worked at L&W engineering in Middlebury.

Mark enjoyed fishing, hunting, and going to the cabin in Michigan. He dearly loved time spent with his son, Cameron.

Mark will be fondly remembered as everybody's favorite cousin.

Surviving are a son, Cameron Fugate of Wolcottville; the children that he raised as his own, Jade Grady of Sturgis, Michigan and Trevor Grady of Stroh; two brothers, Jerry (Deloris Stidham) Fugate of Rome City and Curtis Fugate of Wolcottville; cousins he was raised with as family, Larry Criswell, Timothy Criswell, and Rebecca DeCamp; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Danny Fugate.

Visitation will be Friday, November 3, 2023, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Young Family Funeral Home, Wolcottville Chapel, State Road 9 North, Wolcottville.

The funeral service will be Friday at 1 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Wade Sturdivant of New Freedom Baptist Church in LaGrange officiating.

Burial will follow at Orange Cemetery near Rome City.

Pallbearers are Tony "Woody" Woodworth, Terry Wertz, John McNulty, Cole Criswell, Josh Williams, Tanner Fugate, Ken Fugate, and Bracky Fugate.
