Marion K. "Manny" Hawn, 87, of Rome City, Indiana died Tuesday, November 28, 2023, at his residence surrounded by his family.

He was born July 4, 1936, in Columbia City to John Franklin and Thelma Pauline (Bauserman) Hawn.

On May 6, 1989, in Wolcottville he married Madilyn F. Stollar.

Manny had worked as a studio musician at Sun Records; as a truck driver, and as a tool and die machinist at Dana Corporation. He also served as a Lay Minister.

He was a member of the Rome City American Legion Post 381.

Manny enjoyed music and dearly loved his family. He always said he had three loves in his life, music, family, and God.

Surviving are his wife, Madilyn F. Hawn of Rome City; a son, James G. Deming of Rome City; a daughter, Madilyn A. (Robert) Davis of Kendallville; two grandchildren, Marshall Davis of Kendallville and Maggie (Auguste) Dean of Rome City; two great-grandchildren, Elizabeth and Marcus; a brother, Kirby Hawn; and a sister, Peg.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Kelly Gene Hawn; and several brothers and sisters.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, December 6, 2023, at 1 p.m. at Young Family Funeral Home, Kendallville Chapel, 222 South State Street, Kendallville with Pastors Randy and Larissa Willard of Marion Christian Fellowship in Shipshewana officiating.

Burial will follow at Orange Cemetery near Rome City.

Visitation will be Tuesday, December 5, 2023, from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. and one hour prior to the funeral services on Wednesday at the funeral home.

Preferred memorials are to the American Cancer Society.
