Marilyn Wilt, 70, of Wolcottville died Friday, September 11, 2009, in her home on Dallas Lake.

Mrs. Wilt was a retired Registered Nurse. She had worked at Caylor-Nickel Hospital in Bluffton and McCray Memorial Hospital in Kendallville. She was the former Director of Nurses at LaGrange Hospital, health occupations instructor at Lakeland High School, and nurse for the LaGrange County Association of Retarded Citizens.

She was a 30-year volunteer for the American Heart Association serving as the memorials chairman. She also was the LaGrange County volunteer at the master gardener program in Allen County, and served as a Westview School Corporation Board member for eight years.

She was a member of the Parkview Methodist School of Nursing Alumni and the Wolcottville United Methodist Church. She was an associate member of the South Pasedena Community Church, in South Pasedena, Florida, and the Wolcottville Athena Club.

She was born February 7, 1939, in Zanesville to Goodrich and Esther (Robinson) Cunningham. On September 21, 1963 in Liberty Center, she marrried Ralph R. Wilt, Jr. He survives at Dallas Lake.

Also surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Julie and Curt Castetter of Jacksonville, Florida; a son-in-law, Terry Spradlin of Greenwood; three stepchildren, David Wilt of Tucson, Arizona, Deborah and Michael Barrett of McCordsville, and Elizabeth Shaw of Leo; four grandchildren, Chandler Castetter, Christian Castetter, Joshua Spradlin and Abigail Spradlin; seven step grandchildren, Kyle Wilt, Krystal Wilt, Lauren Barrett, Jennifer Koehneke, Julia Garcia, Jonathan Stults, and Alexandria Shaw; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Kay Cunningham of Ruskin, Florida, and Marjorie and John Jones of Warren; and one brother and sister-in-law, Philip and Lee Cunningham of Ruskin, Florida.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Kerry Spradlin on February 20, 2009, and her parents.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, September 16, 2009, at 11 a.m. in the Wolcottville United Methodist Church, with Rev. Jack Thomas officiating. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery, Wolcottville.

Calling is Tuesday, September 15, 2009, from 3 to 7 p.m. at the Young Family Funeral Home, Wolcottville Chapel, State Road 9 North, Wolcottville and one hour prior to services at the church on Wednesday.

Preferred memorials are to the Wolcottville United Methodist Church.
