Marilyn Jean (Meyer) Suever, 89, of Wolcottville, Indiana, died Friday, May 15, 2026, at Orchard Pointe Health Campus in Kendallville.
She was born August 8, 1936, in Celina, Ohio, to Orland L. and Mary L. (Fetters) Meyer.
On September 10, 1955, in Delphos, Ohio, she married Firmin William "Bill" Suever. He preceded her in death on February 5, 2022.
After raising her family, Mrs. Suever went back to nursing school to pursue her lifelong dream of becoming a nurse. She had worked at McCray Hospital in Kendallville on the OB floor. She later took the position of private practice nursing for Dr. Gerald Warrener.
Marilyn enjoyed traveling, Colts football, Indy car racing, mushroom hunting and lake life. She enjoyed her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Surviving are two daughters, April (Tony) Pasquali of Kendallville and Amy (David) Schoeck of Kendallville; a son, Mark (Robin) Suever of Howe; six grandchildren, Stephanie (Jared) Ballou, Blake (Jaclyn) Kocher, Stephen (Ali) Suever, Zachary (Chelsea) Schoeck, Erica Schoeck, and Cam Schoeck; 11 great-grandchildren, Juliana Ballou, Emily Ballou, Alayna Ballou, Cole Suever, Susanna Ballou, Carter Schoeck, Everett Kocher, Addisyn Schoeck, Andrew Ballou, Reid Kocher, and Ava Kocher; and three sisters-in-law, Sharon Decker of Huntertown, Diane Daggett of Lawrence, Kansas, and Sue Suever of Marion.
She was also preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Leon Meyer.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, May 20, 2026 , at 11 a.m. at Young Family Funeral Home, Wolcottville Chapel, State Road 9 North, Wolcottville with the Reverend Mark W. Suever of Crossroads Baptist Church in Shipshewana officiating.
Burial will follow at Woodland Cemetery in Wolcottville.
Visitation will also be on Wednesday, one hour prior to the funeral service at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital or Wounded Warriors.
