Marilyn A. Ponder, 72, of Wolcottville died Saturday, March 24, 2012, at 12:45 a.m. in her residence. She had been in failing health since October.

She graduated from Wolcottville High School.

Mrs. Ponder was a clerk and a homemaker.

She was a member of St. Gaspar Catholic Church, Rome City.

Marilyn enjoyed reading, camping, and her grandchildren.

She was born August 4, 1939, in Delphos, Ohio, to George A. and Rose M. (Heising) Suever. On February 18, 1970 in Fort Wayne she married Bill W. Ponder. He survives in Wolcottville.

Also surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Dave Sewell of Wolcottville; two sons and daughters-in-law, Tony and Amber Jones of Franklin and Kevin and Jill Jones of Kendallville; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Tom and Sharon Decker of Huntertown and Diane Daggett of Lawrence, Kansas; a brother and sister-in-law, Bill and Marilyn Suever of Wolcottville; a sister-in-law, Sue Suever of Marion; a brother-in-law, John Ponder of Fort Wayne; seven grandchildren, Aaron Jones, Nathan Jones, Cortney Jones, Clayton Jones, Holly Jones, Gentry and Christine Warner, and Lauren Sewell and Timmy Newsome; and three great grandchildren, Zander Warner, Benjamin Warner, and Bradley Newsome.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, and two sisters.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, March 27, 2012, at 10 a.m. in Young Family Funeral Home, Wolcottville Chapel, State Road 9 North, Wolcottville with Pastor Mark Suever officiating. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery, Wolcottville.

Pallbearers will be Tony Jones, Kevin Jones, Aaron Jones, Nate Jones, Gentry Warner, Dave Sewell, and Clay Jones.

Calling is Monday, March 26, 2012, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the funeral home.
