Obituary

Margaret Mae Pfeiffer, 89, of Kendallville died Sunday, April 6, 2008, at 10:50 p.m. in Shepherd of the Hill, Kendallville. She had resided at the nursing home for 15 years.

Mrs. Pfeiffer had lived in Kendallville since 1968. She had been a beautician since 1956, owning her own shop, Margaret's Beauty Shop on Main Street and later moving it into her Lisle Street home. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Kendallville, the Mary Ruth Circle, Kendallville Elks Club, VFW Post 2749 Auxiliary, and the Kendallville American Legion Post 86 Auxiliary. She was an avid golfer and bowler, and belonged to the Berhalter Furniture Store Bowling League for many years.

She was born August 22, 1918, in Ari, Indiana, to Charles Joseph and Jenny (Wappes) Neible. On July 17, 1937, in Auburn, she married Bernard LeRoy Pfeiffer. He preceded her in death on July 25, 1971.

Surviving are five grandchildren, Terri Lynn Pfeiffer, David Mark Pfeiffer, David Paul Pfeiffer, Mark A. Pfeiffer, and Michelle M. Pfeiffer; two great grandchildren, Payton E. Pfeiffer and Ethan J. Pfeiffer; and six half sisters.

She was preceded in death by two sons, Jack L. Pfeiffer and David P. Pfeiffer, a brother, John Joseph Neible, and her stepmother, Georgia Neible.

Funeral services will be Thursday, April 10, 2008, at 1:00 p.m. at the Young Family Funeral Home, Kendallville Chapel, 222 South State Street, Kendallville, with Pastors Thomas Clother and Robert Farmer of First Christian Church officiating. Burial will be in Lake View Cemetery, Kendallville.

Visitation will be Thursday from 11:30 to 1:00 p.m. Preferred memorials are to the First Christian Church, 110 West Waits Road, Kendallville.
