Margaret Logan, 87, of Kendallville died Friday, April 1, 2011, in Indiana University Medical Center, Indianapolis, where she had been a patient since Monday.
Mrs. Logan graduated from Rome City High School. She was a lifetime area resident and a homemaker.
She was active in the Orange Township Homemaker's Club, the Settler's in Fort Wayne, and the LaGrange Doll Club.
She was born March 17, 1924, in Kendallville to Glenn S. and Minnie S. (Black) Rimmel. She was married October 3, 1942, in Brimfield to Perry C. Logan, Sr. He preceded her in death on August 22, 1991.
Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Annette and David Mains of Huntertown; three sons and daughters-in-law, Perry C. Logan, Jr. and Laura Logan of Kendallville, Kent and Sherry Logan of Kendallville, and Lee and Judi Logan of Wolcottville; seven grandchildren, Ben (Deanna) Mains, Adam (Amy) Mains, Maria (Greg) Christenson, Nicole (Kevin) Knafel, Joshuah Logan, Sarah (Brian) Moreland, and Caleb Logan; and 13 great grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Harold Rimmel, Amos Rimmel, and John Rimmel; and a daughter, Kay Berg in 2000.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, April 6, 2011, at 11 a.m. in Young Family Funeral Home, Kendallville Chapel, 222 South State Street, Kendallville with Pastor Jeff Wolheter of Bridgeway Evangelical Church, Kendallville officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery.
Casketbearers will be Joshuah Logan, Caleb Logan, Greg Christenson, Kevin Knafel, Ben Mains, Adam Mains, and Brian Moreland.
Calling is Tuesday, April 5, 2011, from 3 to 8 p.m. in the funeral home and one hour prior to services on Wednesday.
Preferred memorials are to Heritage Mission in Huntertown or to the Goshen Center for Cancer Care.
