Obituary

Margaret Lorraine Bartman, 72, of Kendallville made her triumphant entry into Heaven after a sudden diagnosis of acute leukemia. She died Tuesday, May 13, 2008, at 2:55 p.m. at her home with her family by her side.

Mrs. Bartman has lived in Kendallville the past three years due to her daughter, Karen's relocation. She had owned a beauty shop, The Curl Shop in Lansing, Illinois, for over 20 years. She then worked in insurance billing for Jones Clinic in Munster. She retired early to care for her youngest grandchild, David.

She was born October 16, 1935, in Hammond to Arthur Lorenz, Sr. and Lorraine (Baldwin) Lorenz. She was married September 17, 1955, in Lansing, Illinois, to Wayne D. Bartman. He survives in Kendallville.

Marge was a life long member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Lansing, Illinois, and has been a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Kendallville for three years. She and Wayne have been married 52 years, and share the love of each other, their family, and God. They have had a wonderful life together, knowing that in time they will be together again. She enjoyed taking care of her family, fishing, playing cards, and needlework.

Surviving are two daughters and a son-in-law, Karen Bloom of Kendallville, and Lorrie and Daniel Wolf of Parkville, Missouri; five grandchildren, Sarah and Steve Gradek and David Wayne Bloom of Kendallville, Kimberly Wolf of Austin, Texas, Paul Wolf of Missouri, and Nora Wolf of Missouri; one sister and brother-in-law, Carol and Chuck Peglow of Woodruff, Wisconsin; two brothers and three sisters-in-law, Arthur and MaryEllen Lorenz of Steger, Illinois, Kenneth and Donna Lorenz of Valporaiso, and MaryLou and Mac Bartman-MacConnel of Dyer; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services will be Friday, May 16, 2008, at 11:30 a.m. at St. John Lutheran Church, 301 South Oak Street, Kendallville, with Rev. Paul B. Griebel officiating. Burial will be in Lake View Cemetery at Kendallville.

Calling will be Thursday, May 15, 2008, from 3 to 8 p.m. at Young Family Funeral Home, Kendallville Chapel, 222 South State Street, Kendallville, and one hour prior to services at the church on Friday.

Preferred memorials are to St. John Lutheran Church in Kendallville.
