Mass of Christian Burial: Tuesday, July 15, 2014 - 11 a.m. in St. Gaspar Catholic Church, Rome City

Calling: Monday, July 14, 2014 - 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. in the funeral home and one hour prior to services at the church. Rosary service at 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home ************************************************************************************ Margaret A. "Peg" Arney, 77, of Waldron Lake, Rome City died Thursday, July 10, 2014, at 4:29 p.m. in her residence.

Mrs. Arney retired from Dana Corp. in Fort Wayne after 33 ½ years.

She was a member of St. Gaspar Catholic Church in Rome City and the Rome City American Legion Post 381 Auxiliary. She was an active volunteer with Helping Hands in Rome City.

Peg greatly enjoyed living on the lake. She often said her life was a party since 1967, the year she and her husband moved to Waldron Lake. She also enjoyed shopping. She dearly loved life, her family and friends, and especially her great-grandchildren.

She was born July 18, 1936, in Fort Wayne to Henry G. and Hazel G. (Price) Neuhaus.

On August 15, 1958, in Fort Wayne she married Thomas G. Arney. He preceded her in death on September 27, 2006.

Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Tami and James "Buzz" Junk of Huntertown; two granddaughters, Jenny (J.R.) Melcher of Fort Wayne and Crystal (Tom) Andrews of Huntertown; four great-grandchildren, Dylan Melcher, Ethan Melcher, Sybela Raine Andrews, and Alexis Andrews; two brothers, George A. (Lois) Neuhaus of New Haven and Thomas (Mary Ann) Neuhaus of Fort Wayne; and a sister-in-law, Clancy Neuhaus of Fort Wayne.

She was also preceded in death by a brother, Richard "Dick" Neuhaus.

Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday, July 15, 2014, at 11 a.m. in St. Gaspar Catholic Church, Rome City with Father Bernard Ramenaden officiating. Private burial will be in St. Gaspar Catholic Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Mike Kurtz, Gary Baker, Ned Lichtsinn, Tom Andrews, J.R. Melcher, and Kevin Stephenson.

Calling is Monday, July 14, 2014, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. in Young Family Funeral Home, Wolcottville Chapel, State Road 9 North, Wolcottville and one hour prior to services at the church on Tuesday. A Rosary service will be held at 7:30 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home.

Preferred memorials are to St. Jude Hospital, Helping Hands in Rome City, or St. Gaspar Catholic Church.
