Marcella Jean Long, 71, of Albion and formerly of Kendallville died Friday, June 17, 2011, in Northridge Village in Albion.

She graduated from Kendallville High School. She received a master's degree in social work and counseling. She was a Professor and head of the Social Work Department at St. Francis College in Fort Wayne. She has been a minister for the last 25 years.

She was born April 15, 1940, in Noble County to Edgar Ray and Mae Leona (Addis) Long. On July 1, 1984, in Noble County she married Charles Max Hoover. He preceded her in death on April 27, 2005.

Surviving are two daughters, Julie (Michael) Hobbs of Ooltewah, Tennessee and Kristin (Andrew) Hampshire of Kendallville; a stepson, Lucas Hawkens of Kendallville; three stepdaughters, Margaret Pasko of Huntington, Beth Hanlon of Indianapolis, and Phyllis Aurenheimer of Phoenix, Arizona; 12 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; one great great grandson; her mother, Mae Long of Kendallville; a sister, Sharon (Daryl) Bell of Kendallville and a brother, Edgar (Sherri) Long of LaOtto.

She was also preceded in death by her father and a sister, Sandra Lee Long.

Funeral services will be Monday, June 20, 2011, at 11:30 a.m. in the Wayne Center United Methodist Church with Rev. Sherri Long officiating. Burial will be in Lake View Cemetery, Kendallville.

Calling is Monday from 9 to 11 a.m. in the church.

Preferred memorials are to the Wayne Center United Methodist Church.
