Obituary

Maedene Gee, 97, of Rome City died Sunday, December 28, 2008, in Provena Sacred Heart Home, Avilla.

Mrs. Gee had lived in the Rome City area since 2003, coming from White Pigeon, Michigan. She was a member of St. Gaspar Catholic Church in Rome City.

She was born October 14, 1911, in Millersburg to Lawrence Clifford and Margaret Angeline (Rink) Cripe. She was married June 24, 1939, in Texas to Charles Earl Gee. He preceded her in death on February 26, 1965.

Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, David and Marlene Gee of Rome City; a grandson, Dalton Gee of Rome City; a sister, Beulah Cripe of Goshen; a brother, Lawrence "Larry" Cripe of Sturgis, Michigan, a sister-in-law, Daisy Cripe of Goshen; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be Friday, January 2, 2009, at 10 a.m. at St. Gaspar Catholic Church with Fr. Bernard Ramenaden officiating. Burial will be Friday at 2 p.m. in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens at Mishawaka.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Wayne Cripe and Ansil "Bud" Cripe, a sister, Zula Cripe, and a sister-in-law, Beverly Cripe.

Calling will be Thursday, January 1, 2009, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Young Family Funeral Home, Wolcottville Chapel, State Road 9 North, Wolcottville. Rosary service will be held at 7:30 p.m.

Preferred memorials are to St. Gaspar Catholic Church Religious Education Program.
