Madilyn F. “Maddie” Hawn, 82, of Rome City, Indiana died Sunday, April 19, 2026, at her residence surrounded by her family.

She was born March 7, 1944, in Toledo, Ohio to Archie Orville and Virginia Louise “Jennie” (Martin) Stollar.

On May 6, 1989, in Wolcottville she married Marion K. “Manny” Hawn. He preceded her in death on November 28, 2023.

Maddie had worked in quality control at Dana Corporation in Kendallville. She also served as a Lay Minister.

Maddie had a passion for cake decorating and found joy in babysitting many children in Kendallville. She cherished time spent with her beloved husband, Manny, and especially treasured moments with her grandchildren, who brought her immense happiness.

Surviving are a son, James G. Deming of Rome City; a daughter, Maddie A. (Robert) Davis of Kendallville; two grandchildren, Marshall Davis of Kendallville and Maggie (Auguste) Dean of Rome City; two great-grandchildren, Elizabeth and Marcus.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; a son, James Scott Wagner; a daughter, Minnie Jean Wagner; and 14 siblings.

Funeral services will be Friday, April 24, 2026, at 1 p.m. at Young Family Funeral Home, Kendallville Chapel, 222 South State Street, Kendallville with Pastors Randy and Larissa Willard of Marion Christian Fellowship in Shipshewana officiating.

Burial will follow at Orange Cemetery near Rome City.

Visitation will be Thursday, April 23, 2026, from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. and one hour prior to the funeral services on Friday at the funeral home.
