Obituary

Lula Storey, 77, of Kendallville died Thursday, February 19, 2009, in Parkview Hospital, Fort Wayne.

Mrs. Storey has lived in Kendallville since 1951, coming from Kentucky. She had worked at Flint & Walling Manufacturing in Kendallville for 18 years.

She was born June 14, 1931, in Handshoe, Kentucky, to William and Polly (Handshoe) Smith. She married Robert Storey, and he preceded her in death on December 13, 2004.

Surviving are three sons and a daughter-in-law, Robert D. Storey of Kendallville, Larry and Sharon Beverly of Elkhart, and Freeman Beverly of Anderson; 11 grandchildren; and 16 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, Earl Wayne Storey, a grandchild, Joey Beverly; four sisters, Myrtle Smith, Elizabeth Smith, Lona Bailey, and Viney Conley; and four brothers, Arthur Smith, Birtchel Smith, Cain Smith, and Jim Smith.

Funeral services will be Monday, February 23, 2009, at 2 p.m. in the Stroh United Baptist Church in Stroh, with Pastors Jerry Collins, Rick Davis, and Olie Smith officiating. Burial will be in Orange Cemetery, Rome City.

Calling will be Saturday, February 21, 2009, from 4 - 7 p.m. in the Young Family Funeral Home, Wolcottville Chapel, State Road 9 North, Wolcottville where there will be an evening service at 7 p.m.

Calling will also be Sunday, February 22, 2009, after 3 p.m. at the Stroh United Baptist Church in Stroh where there will be an evening service at 6 p.m.
