Lueta Alice (Nisely) Brand Cook, 101, of Kendallville was called home Friday, October 20, 2017, at Presence Sacred Heart Home in Avilla.
She was born November 14, 1915, in Fulton County, Ohio, to G.W. and Alice (Neidhardt) Nisely.
Mrs. Cook was homemaker and also worked at Bauman and Harnish in Garrett for many years.
She was a member of CrossPointe Family Church of the Nazarene in Kendallville.
Lueta enjoyed playing board games, card games, shuffleboard, pool, and bowling. Her family remembers her as a fierce competitor. She also loved to watch television game shows, in particular, "The Price is Right" and "Wheel of Fortune". She enjoyed fishing and travelling all around the world.
Surviving are two daughters, Alice Vanarsdall of Indianapolis and Nancy (Ron) Hashberger of Kendallville; two sons, Allen Brand of Sun City, Arizona, and Robert (Sharon) Brand of Leesburg, Florida; four stepsons, Wayne (Sharon) Cook of Adams Lake, Glenn (Chris) Cook of South Bend, Thomas Dawson of Saginaw, Michigan, and Jim Dawson of Saginaw, Michigan; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; ten step-grandchildren; and numerous step great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her first husband of 43 years and the father of her children, LeRoy Brand; her second husband, Joe Dawson; her third husband, Everett Joseph Cook; two sisters, Dorothy Brand and Beulah Grim; three brothers, Lewis Nisely, Lowell Nisely, and Edgar Nisely; and a grandson.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, October 25, 2017, at 1 p.m. at Young Family Funeral Home, Kendallville Chapel, 222 South State Street, Kendallville with Pastor Rich Secor officiating. Burial will be in Fairfield Center Cemetery, Corunna.
Calling is Wednesday, October 25, 2017, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the funeral home.
Preferred memorials are to CrossPointe Family Church of the Nazarene, Kendallville.
