Lucenia (Moore) Combs, 74, of Wolcottville went to be with Jesus Saturday, November 12, 2011, at 9:35 a.m. in her home with her family at her side.

She worked at Miller's Merry Manor in LaGrange as a nurse's aide for 11 years. She also worked at the LaGrange Community Hospital in LaGrange as a nurse's aid for seven years.

Lucenia's life revolved around her husband, children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. They were her joy in life.

She was born May 7, 1937, in Knott County, Kentucky, to Jasper and Fairlenia (Napier) Moore. On September 25, 1954, she married the love of her life, Reverend Leburn "Lee" Combs. He survives in Wolcottville.

Along with her husband, she leaves her eight children to cherish her memories: Reverend Clarence and Judy Combs (Wolcottville), Lilly and John Powell (Findlay, OH), Jerry Combs (Kendallville), Kenith Combs (Kendallville), Danny Combs (Wolcottville), Del and Wendy Combs (Wolf Lake), Jooanna and 1st Sgt. Danny Conley (Fort Riley, KS), and Shronna and Mike Mast (Rome City); 18 grandchildren; 10 great grandchlldren; a brother, Dalton and Jeannette Moore (Jones Lake); and a sister, Irene and Darrell Hilton (Winchester, KY).

She was preceded in death by her parents, six sisters, and two brothers.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, November 16, 2011, at 11 a.m. in Community Baptist Church, 6170 E 700 S, Wolcottville with the Reverend Buddy Jones, the Reverend Willie Collins, and the Reverend Jim Snyder officiating. Burial will be in Orange Cemetery, Rome City.

Honorary pallbearers will be Clarence Combs, Jerry Combs, Danny Combs, Del Combs, 1st Sgt. Danny Conley, Noah Tuttle, Duke Lovely, and Jasper Case. Active pallbearers will be Kenith Combs, Josh Combs, John Powell, Mike Mast, Tom Tuttle, and A.J. Conley.

Calling is Monday, November 14, 2011, from 4 to 8 p.m. in Five Corners Baptist Church, State Road 9 North, Wolcottville.

Calling will also be Tuesday, November 15, 2011, after 2 p.m. in Community Baptist Church, 6170 E 700 S, Wolcottville, where there will be an evening service at 6 p.m.

Preferred memorials are to St. Jude Children's Hospital.

Young Family Funeral Home, Wolcottville Chapel, State Road 9 North, Wolcottville is assisting the family with arrangements.
