Obituary

Louis Edward Lash, 94, of Avilla died Tuesday, May 3, 2016, at 10:30 p.m. in Signature Health Care in Fort Wayne.

He was a lifetime area resident.

Mr. Lash was a dairy farmer. He previously served as a Noble County Commissioner, Farm Bureau President, and a Republican precinct committeeman for Allen Township in Noble County.

He was born December 5, 1921, in Noble County to Herman and Mary (Lemper) Lash.

On June 11, 1943, in Avilla he married Betty C. Brown. She survives in Avilla.

Also surviving are three daughters, Carolyn Rudek of Arkansas, Nancy (Mike) Caywood of Fort Wayne, and Jennifer (Bill) Lewis of Michigan; two sons, Daniel (Cindy) Lash of Rome City and Bernard Lash of Avilla; 16 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Jean Ley of Washington and Ruth Marti of Illinois.

He was preceded in death by four sisters, Phyllis Heffner, Joan Lash, Evelyn Evers, and Theresa Parker; and three brothers, Harold Lash, Albert Lash, and Johnny Lash.

Funeral services will be Sunday, May 8, 2016, at 2 p.m. in Young Family Funeral Home, Kendallville Chapel, 222 South State Street, Kendallville with Pastor Scott Kellenberger of the Weston Street Bible Church in Rome City officiating. Burial will be in Christian Union Cemetery, Garrett.

Calling is Saturday, May 7, 2016, from 4 to 7 p.m. in the funeral home and one hour prior to the service on Sunday.
