Lorraine Seidel, 103, of Kendallville, Indiana died Saturday, September 27, 2025, at Lutheran Life Villages in Kendallville.
She was born January 21, 1922, in Dunn County, Wisconsin to Ernest and Ella (Ziehr) Karlen.
On August 16, 1941, in Kendallville she married Norman Seidel. He preceded her in death on June 22, 2001.
Lorraine was a typesetter at the News Sun in Kendallville.
She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Kendallville, American Legion Auxiliary Unit 86 in Kendallville, and bridge club.
Lorraine and Norman were foundation of their family. They were dearly loved by their grandchildren.
Surviving are a daughter, Deborah Campbell of Rome City; a daughter-in-law, Elizabeth Seidel of Elk Grove Village, Illinois; eight grandchildren, Luke Meade, Shelly Meade, and Zack Meade all of Kendallville, Drew (Tawney) Campbell of Harlen, Dirk Campbell of Rome City, Lauren Niemerg of Elk Grove Village, Illinois, Kent Seidel of Indianapolis, and Lynsey Seidel of Elk Grove Village, Illinois; nine great-grandchildren, Evan Campbell, Alyiah Campbell, Blake Campbell, Tyler Campbell, Wyatt Campbell, Zohie Campbell, Silas Campbell, Lily Niemerg, and Audrey Niemerg; and several nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by a son, James K. Seidel; four sisters, Dorothy Leighty, Lois Kester, Patricia Flickinger and Ardis Jean Karlen; and an infant brother.
Memorial services will be Saturday, October 4, 2025, at 1 p.m. at St. John Lutheran Church, 301 South Oak Street, Kendallville with Rev. Philip Rigdon officiating.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the memorial service at the church.
Burial will be in Lake View Cemetery at a later date.
Young Family Funeral Home, Kendallville Chapel, 222 South State Street, Kendallville is assisting the family with arrangements.
