Obituary

Lloyd S. Foltz, 101, of Muncie and formerly of Rome City died Monday, June 29, 2026, at Cedar Creek Assisted Living in Muncie.

He was born February 25, 1925, in Lockland, Ohio to Jess and Emma (Hanking) Foltz.

On January 25, 1941, in Muncie he married Phyllis Jean Hunt. She preceded him in death on November 14, 2019.

He honorably served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and was stationed in Hawaii.

He retired from BorgWarner in Muncie.

Lloyd found peace in the woods and on the water, spending countless quiet mornings hunting or fishing. His golden retrievers were more than show dogs; they were companions, partners, and a source of pride as he earned many awards with them over the years.

Faith and fellowship were also important to him. As a member of Woodruff Grove Church and the Rome City Masonic Lodge, Lloyd built friendships that lasted a lifetime. But nothing meant more to him than his family. Whether gathered around a table, sharing stories, or simply enjoying each other’s company, Lloyd treasured every moment.

Surviving are two daughters, Lucinda Wyman of Bloomington and Nancy (Bill) Luna of Yorktown; a son, Dennis (Bettie) Foltz of Fort Wayne; seven grandchildren, Brett Myers, Robin (Joseph) Ross, Bart (Collyne) Myers, Dawn (John) Egan, Derek Luna, Jeremy (Amy) Luna, and Josh (Melissa) Foltz; a granddaughter-in-law, Julie Foltz; 17 great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren.

He was also preceded in death by a son-in-law, Loren Wyman; a grandson, Brant Foltz; a great-great-granddaughter, Madison Myers; three sisters, Faye Burns, Peggy Neuhaus, and Betty McCarty; and two brothers, Kenneth Foltz and Robert Foltz.

Funeral services will be Friday, July 10, 2026, at 2 p.m. at the Woodruff Grove Church, 4860 S 450 E, Wolcottville, with Pastor Chris Wild officiating.

Burial will be in Woodruff Cemetery. Honor guard services will be provided by the Veterans Honor Guard.

Pallbearers are Bart Myers, Garrett Egan, Gage Foltz, Garth Foltz, Jeremy Luna, Derek Luna, Brett Myers, and Bart L. Myers.

Visitation will also be on Friday, beginning at 12 p.m. until the time of the service at the church.

Young Family Funeral Home, Wolcottville Chapel, State Road 9 North, is assisting the family with arrangements.
