Linda Sue Hurst, 71, of Kendallville, Indiana died Wednesday, November 22, 2023, at Kendallville Manor Nursing Home in Kendallville.

She was born November 9, 1952, in McDowell, Kentucky to Orville and Evalyn (Blankenship) McDonald.

In November of 1972, she married Rodney K. Hurst. He preceded her in death on July 16, 2021.

Linda had worked at Colwell, in the kitchen at McCray Memorial Hospital in Kendallville, and was a waitress at Richard's Restaurant in Kendallville.

She was a former member of the Assembly of God Church in Kendallville.

Surviving are her son, Bryan Hurst of Kendallville; five grandchildren, Amber Nicole Hurst, Tyler Chad Hurst, Brandon Keith Hurst, Tristan Hurst, and Nicholas Everett Hurst; a great-granddaughter, Avianna; a sister, Reba (Rex) Bardsley of Kendallville; two brothers, Kenneth (Dianne) McDonald of Kendallville and Eddie (Barb) McDonald of Willard, Ohio.

She was also preceded in death by a son, Chad Everett Hurst in 2010; a grandson, Chad Nicholas Hurst in 1999, and two brothers, Denzil McDonald and Darrell McDonald.

Burial will take place in Lake View Cemetery in Kendallville.

Celebration of Life services will be Monday, December 4, 2023 at 4:00 p.m. at Young Family Funeral Home, Kendallville Chapel, 222 South State Street, Kendallville.

Visitation will also be on Monday one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Preferred memorials are to the family for funeral expenses.
