Calling: Sunday, April 7, 2013 - 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. and one hour prior to the service on Monday ************************************************************************ Letitia "Tish" Campbell, 91, of Wawaka died Thursday, April 4, 2013, at 7:55 p.m. in North Ridge Village Nursing & Rehabilitation in Albion.
She graduated from Stuart Robinson High School in Letcher County, Kentucky, and went on to attend business college in Cleveland, Ohio.
Tish worked several jobs prior to moving to Indiana in 1957. During World War II, she worked for Chrysler in Detroit on the Manhattan Project. She later worked at Motor Products in Detroit.
She was a dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother, who put family first.
Mrs. Campbell attended Cosperville and Shiloh Baptist Church before becoming ill. She was a past member of the National Bible Society, and donated to the "Bible A Month Club" for many years, along with several other charities.
Tish loved being with family, especially her grandchildren. She was an avid reader, loved the outdoors, gardening, and fishing.
She was born May 25, 1921, in Jeremiah, Kentucky, to James and Anna Adams. On September 12, 1947, in Detroit she married Elzie Campbell.
She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Elzie Campbell of Wawaka; a son, Michael (Karen) Campbell of Avilla; a daughter, Linda (Kevin) Campbell-Davis of South Bend; six grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by four brothers, John Adams, Watson Adams, Mose Adams, and Dave Adams and two sisters, Lissie Blair and Betty Jane Reynolds.
Funeral services will be Monday, April 8, 2013, at 11 a.m. in Young Family Funeral Home, Kendallville Chapel, 222 South State Street, Kendallville with Rev. Dr. Robert Shriner of St. John Lutheran Church officiating. Burial will be in Orange Cemetery, Rome City.
Calling is Sunday, April 7, 2013, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the funeral home and one hour prior to services on Monday.
Preferred memorials are to Parkview Noble Hospice or St. John Lutheran School.
The family encourages those who have stories of Tish to share them with family and friends.
Tish will be greatly missed.
