Obituary

Leonard H. Judt, Jr., 80, of Kendallville, Indiana, passed away on Tuesday, June 7, 2022, at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne. He was born June 8, 1941, in Fort Wayne, Indiana, to Leonard H. and Mary Elizabeth (Joseph) Judt. He was a graduate of Concordia High School in Fort Wayne and International Business College in Fort Wayne where he was a data processing and accounting major. After a short time in Chicago, Len moved to Kendallville where he worked at Flint & Walling for several years, at Central Soya in Fort Wayne, and at LaOtto Manufacturing. He then earned his real estate license and worked in the real estate industry for 20 years before retiring. He served on the board of directors and was president of the Northeastern Indiana Association of Realtors. He was a member of the Kiwanis Club, eventually becoming president, and the Kendallville Park Board, eventually being appointed president. He was a member of the board of Lutheran Life Villages, and was appointed to the Kendallville Housing Authority, serving as president for several years. Len was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Kendallville for over 55 years. He was Chairman of the Board and served in several other positions for the church and school. Len married the love of his life, Jane Ann Meyer, on February 9, 1963. She predeceased him in April, 1981. Together they raised three children, Chris (Jill) Judt of Tucson, Arizona, Scott (Angie Stuckey) Judt of Auburn, and Julie (Brant) Foltz of Fort Wayne. On October 5, 1985, he married MJ Savage, and together they raised their daughter, Andi, who now lives in Charleston, South Carolina. In addition to his wife and four children, several grandchildren and great-grandchildren survive. Len is also survived by his brother, Howard Judt of Arkansas. In keeping with his wishes, cremation has been conducted. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Friday, June 17, 2022, at 5 p.m. at St. John Lutheran Church, 301 South Oak Street, Kendallville with the Rev. Philip Rigdon officiating. Visitation will be at the church on Friday for one hour prior to the service. Len's funeral service will also live stream on the Young Family Funeral Home Facebook page beginning at 5 p.m. for those unable to attend in person.
