Leona Eileen (Murphy) Theurer Marsack Link Tucker, 87, of Ontario, California, and formerly of Corunna, Indiana, died Saturday, March 1, 2008, in Ontario.
Mrs. Tucker graduated from Kendallville High School in 1938 and St. Joseph's School of Nursing in Fort Wayne in 1942. She was a registered nurse from 1942 to 1980, working in hospitals in Garrett, Kendallville, Fort Wayne, Chicago, and Salt Lake City. She retired from Lanterman State Hospital in Montclair, California. She moved to California in 1959. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Pomona, California, and the American Nurses Association.
She was born November 17, 1920, in Kendallville, to Fredrick Henry and Iva Belle (Bloomfield) Murphy.
While in school in Fort Wayne, she met Jack Theurer of Portland and Kendallville. A daughter was born between them. She then married Thomas Marsack of Detroit, Michigan. They had a son born to them. She then resided and worked in Chicago. She married Ted Link of Chicago. Later she moved back to Garrett, married Theodore Tucker and moved to Corunna. She moved to Salt Lake City, and eventually, she moved to California.
Surviving are one daughter, Marjadene M. Theurer-Murphy Seidel of Salt Lake City, Utah; two sons, Thomas Marsack of San Bernardino County, California, and David Tucker of Los Angeles, California; five grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and four great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by Jack Theurer, Ted Link, and Theodore Tucker and three sisters, Doris Murphy Kirchner, Martha Murphy Floyd, and Kathleen Murphy Clark.
Graveside services will be held at Lake View Cemetery, Kendallville. Arrangements are by Young Family Funeral Home, Kendallville Chapel. 222 South State Street, Kendallville.
