Obituary

Leona L. Grimes, 77, of Kendallville died Saturday, June 3, 2017, at 12:50 p.m. in Parkview Noble Hospital, Kendallville.

She was born April 6, 1940, in Omer, Michigan, to Nelson and Lillian (Bordeau) Lee.

Mrs. Grimes retired as an administrative secretary for Complete Design in Flint, Michigan.

She had lived in this area for six years, coming from Burton, Michigan.

Leona was very spiritual in her faith. She enjoyed golfing and dearly loved her dogs. Her family meant the world to her.

Surviving are a son, Jeff (Tricia) McAllister of Kendallville; two daughters, Veronica (David) Brown of Waco, Texas, and Natalie (Joe) Polzin of St. Paul, Minnesota; ten grandchildren, Sarah (Doug) Holliday, Matthew Silva, Abby (Corey) Caldwell, Bradley (Jessica Victorino) Silva, Emalee Robinson, Andrew Polzin, Adam Polzin, Michael Polzin, Cassie Polzin, and Luke Polzin; 13 great-grandchildren; a great great-granddaughter; a brother, Don (Jackie) Lee of AuGres, Michigan; a sister, Pat (Jake) Jacek of Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Delmar Grimes in 2009; and a brother, Clifford Lee.

Visitation will be Tuesday, June 6, 2017, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Young Family Funeral Home, Kendallville Chapel, 222 South State Street, Kendallville.

A celebration of life service will be held at a later date in AuGres, Michigan.
