Leif E. Erikson

Leif E. Erikson, 69, of Hudson, Indiana died Wednesday, July 15, 2026, at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne with his family at his side.

He was born October 13, 1956, in Hammond, Indiana to Donald and Kathleen (Cross) Erikson.

On September 1, 1973, in Ashley, he married Loretta Parker.

Leif was a graduate of Prairie Heights High School. He worked as a maintenance technician for the railroad, at J.O. Mory, and later served as a truck driver for the United States Postal Service.

Leif was a proud member of Ashley Masonic Lodge No. 614. He enjoyed football, basketball, and baseball, and was an avid fan of the Chicago Bears, Chicago Cubs, Purdue, and the Indiana Fever. He also had a lifelong love of trains.

Sister, Kristen Erikson of Valparaiso

Brother-in-law, Billy Hancock of Missouri

Several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Donald Erikson and his mother, Kathleen Fizer.

Celebration of life visitation will be Saturday, July 25, 2026, from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Ashley Masonic Lodge, 260 W. Hobart St, Ashley.

Preferred memorials are to the Ashley Masonic Lodge.
