LeAnnah E. Pratt, 88, of Kendallville died Wednesday, December 29, 2010, at 9:59 a.m. in Kendallville Manor HealthCare Center.
She graduated from South Side High School in Fort Wayne in 1942. She retired from the Dietary Department at McCray Memorial Hospital in Kendallville in 1981.
She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Kendallville; Calvin Circle; Noble #122 OES; Second Time Around Euchre Club; Lamplighter Resident Council; and Senior Citizens Bingo and Dinners. She was a pioneer of angioplasty, being the first woman to receive this procedure.
LeAnnah was born November 14, 1922, in Fort Wayne to Karl F. & Naomi (Bridgewaters) Tassler. She married LeRoy C. Pratt on February 13, 1943, in San Diego, CA. He preceded her in death March 2, 1993.
Surviving are four sons and three daughters-in-law, LeRoy C. "Chuck" Pratt, Jr. of Columbia City; Rick D. & Kyle Pratt of Kendallville; John A. & Debby Pratt of Orland; and Karl F. & Cheryl Pratt of New Richland, MN; three grandchildren, Greg & Kathy Pratt, Josh Pratt, Shannon Pratt; two great-grandchildren, Connor Alan Pratt and Trinity Grace Marie Pratt, and a great grandson, Austin Gregory Pratt, whose birth is anticipated soon.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two sisters, Levina Miller & Leah Flowers; four brothers, Carlie Trassler, Leslie Trassler, Leonard Trassler, Levi Trassler; and a daughter-in-law, Donna Pratt.
Funeral services will be Monday, January 3, 2011, at 10:30 a.m. in Young Family Funeral Home, Kendallville Chapel, 222 S. State St., Kendallville with Rev. Stan Wilson of the First Presbyterian Church officiating. Burial will be in Lake View Cemetery, Kendallville.
Calling is Sunday, January 2, 2011, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home with an Eastern Star Service to be held at 7 p.m.
Preferred memorials are to the First Presbyterian Church or the Noble County Cancer Society.
