Obituary

Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, March 28, 2015, at 10 a.m. at St. Gaspar Catholic Church, Rome City.

Calling is Friday, March 27, 2015, from 2 to 7 p.m. in the fellowship hall at St. Gaspar Catholic Church, Rome City where there will be a Knights of Columbus and Rosary service at 7 p.m. Calling will also be one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday. ********************************************************************************************* Lawrence J. "Pinky" Dodane, 78, of Adams Lake, Wolcottville died Wednesday, March 25, 2015, at 9 am. In Parkview Noble Hospital, Kendallville.

He had lived in this area 19 years, coming from Fort Wayne.

He served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1956 to 1958.

Mr. Dodane retired after 36 years with the Kmart Corporation. He was the disaster recovery administrator for the Kmart Distribution Center in Fort Wayne. He was then transferred to their corporate office in Troy, Michigan, where he became the disaster recovery administrator for the United States. He also worked at Meijer in Fort Wayne as assistant manager for five years.

He was a member of St. Gaspar Catholic Church in Rome City and the Knights of Columbus.

He was born December 19, 1936, in Fort Wayne to Merlin and Mary (Sheehan) Dodane.

On June 11, 1960, in Fort Wayne he married Judith J. "Judi" Weingartner. She survives at Adams Lake.

Also surviving are two daughters, Laura (Gary) Kroll of Waterford, Michigan, and Lydia Guzowski (Steven) McKnee of Warren, Michigan; two sons, James (Joyce) Dodane of Kendallville and John (Karen) Dodane of Westland, Michigan; eight grandchildren, Kyle Guzowski, John Kroll, Victoria Guzowski, Kara Dodane, Jake Kroll, Julia Kroll, Anna Dodane, and Erica Dodane; and two step- grandchildren, Sean McKnee and Sydney McKnee.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his stepmother, Rose Dodane; a son-in-law, Randy Guzowski; a granddaughter, Jennifer Kroll; and a brother, Gordon Dodane.

Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, March 28, 2015, at 10 a.m. at St. Gaspar Catholic Church with co-celebrants, Father Bernard Ramenaden and Father John Delaney officiating. Burial will be in St. Gaspar Catholic Cemetery, Rome City.

Honorary pallbearers will be Joe Costello, Francis Carteaux, Gerald Lopshire, Bruce Sheehan, Lisa Dodane, and Gail Gettings. Active pallbearers will be John Kroll, Mark Gallagher, Kyle Guzowski, Jake Kroll, Cameron Truemper, Edward Weingartner, Michael Dodane, Michael Weingartner, and Daniel Weingartner.

Calling is Friday, March 27, 2015, from 2 to 7 p.m. in the fellowship hall at St. Gaspar Catholic Church, Rome City where there will be a Knights of Columbus and Rosary service at 7 p.m. Calling will also be one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday.

Preferred memorials are to Parkview Noble Hospice, Turnstone Center in Fort Wayne, or M asses to St. Gaspar.
