LaVon M. Diehm, 88, of Hudson, Indiana, died Saturday, April 23, 2022, at Lutheran Life Villages in Kendallville. She was born January 29, 1934, in Auburn, Indiana, to William "Bill" and Pearl (Loucks) Hasselman. She was a graduate of Ashley High School. LaVon was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, West Fairfield, Corunna. She last worked at Albright's Grocery in Corunna and had previously worked at Nishikawa in Topeka and for Weible Farms in the gladiola fields, a job she dearly loved. LaVon was a social person and enjoyed being around people. She was very proud of the fact that she had her own teeth and her hair had never been dyed and was dark in color until the end. Surviving are a daughter-in-law, Julia Diehm of Wolcottville; two grandsons, Dustin (Melody) Diehm of LaGrange and Korbyn (Lindsey) Diehm of Kendallville; and six great-grandchildren, Olivia Halbert, Aubrey Diehm, Jaedyn Diehm, Tucker Diehm, Magnolia Diehm, and Hudson Diehm. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Cynthia Diehm; a son, Mark A. Diehm; and a brother, Harold Hasselman. A graveside service will be held Saturday, April 30, 2022, at 11 a.m. at Fairfield Cemetery with Pastor Jesse Parsons officiating. Preferred memorials may be directed to the Humane Society of Noble County or to the family.
