Laura Mae Charles, 61, of Kimmell, Indiana died Sunday, February 19, 2023 at Avalon Village Nursing Home in Ligonier.

She was born December 28, 1961 in Kendallville to Steven Niles and Myrtle (Heltzel) Kline.

Laura was a member of the Kimmell Baptist Church.

Surviving are two daughters, Brenda Dotson of Kimmell and Cari Ann Charles of South Bend; six grandchildren, Donavin, Cheyanne, Vanessa, John, Connor, and DJ; one great-grandchild; her mother, Myrtle Kline of Kimmell; and a sister, Pat Nimmo of Cromwell.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Sylvia Cole; a son, David Charles; two grandsons, Ayden Charles and Kristopher Cole; her father, Steven Niles; a sister, Brenda Niles; and a brother, Charles Niles.

Graveside services will be Friday, June 9, 2023, at 2 p.m. at Orange Cemetery near Rome City.

Young Family Funeral Home, Wolcottville Chapel, State Road 9 North, Wolcottville is assisting the family with arrangements.
