Larry Ray "Squeaky" Patrick, 72, of Wolcottville, Indiana, died Thursday, January 13, 2022, at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne.
He was born September 27, 1949, in Hazard, Kentucky, to Estill and Lola (Combs) Patrick.
He moved to this area in 1964, coming from Kentucky.
On March 23, 1968, in Wolcottville he married Janice Back.
Mr. Patrick drove truck for Eshelman Sand and Gravel in Kendallville and drove bus for the Lakeland School Corporation.
He was a member of the Rome City American Legion Post #381 Sons of the Legion.
Larry enjoyed racing, NASCAR, deer hunting, and watching his beloved Kentucky Wildcats. His family stated he was one of the best armchair coaches around.
Surviving are his wife of 53 years, Janice Patrick of Wolcottville; a son, John Michael Patrick of Wolcottville; two daughters, Michelle (Rick) Osborne of Nashville, Tennessee, and Nena (Jarrett) Glass of Charlotte, North Carolina; three grandchildren, Gunner (Kaitlyn) Osborne, Brad (Katie) Osborne, Rocco Patrick Glass, and a fourth grandson due in March, Charlie Glass; two great-grandchildren, Remingtyn Michelle Osborne and Kinley Jane Osborne; a brother, Howard (Sheila DeWitt) Patrick of Waterloo; a sister, Norma Jean (Lermon) Patrick of Hindman, Kentucky; many special nieces and nephews: and his mother-in-law, Nannie Back of Wolcottville.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Earl Patrick and Estill Patrick, Jr.
Visitation will be Sunday, January 16, 2022, from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. at Young Family Funeral Home, Wolcottville Chapel, State Road 9 North, Wolcottville.
The funeral service will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at the funeral home with his grandsons, Brad and Gunner Osborne officiating.
Honorary pallbearers are Brad Osborne, Gunner Osborne, Rick Osborne, Jarrett Glass, John Moreland, Jasper Case, James Patterson, Otis Patterson, Lermon Patrick, and Floyd Bolton.
Private burial will be on Monday at Woodland Cemetery in Wolcottville.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family.
