IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Larry R.
Emerick
January 12, 1948 – March 27, 2025
Larry Richard Emerick passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Thursday, March 27, 2025, at Ascension St Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis. Larry was born in Kendallville, Indiana on January 12, 1948, to Richard N and Bettey L (Hart) Emerick and lived in the surrounding area his entire life. He enjoyed playing the guitar and singing, mowing the lawn, fishing, golfing, riding motorcycles, helping neighbors, and he modified his mother's recipe for chocolate fudge to a level of perfection that was slightly different by equally as delightful.
On September 1, 1967, Larry married Nancy S Coplin. Together they raised four children while he worked a variety of different jobs including factory worker, auto mechanic, car salesman, maintenance and repair of machinery, and insurance agent. Larry was a talented handyman who could fix nearly anything and worked hard to provide for his family; but long hours never stopped him from being there. A devoted husband and loving father, grandfather, great grandfather, and son, his family was always first. Larry loved the babies and simply lit up around his grandchildren.
Larry is survived by his wife of fifty-seven years, Nancy, and his four children: David Emerick, Kelly (Audwin) Lindsay, Eric (Laura) Krause-Emerick, and Erin (Tony) Neu; seven grandchildren; and ten great grandchildren with two more due in the coming months.
The family will host a celebration of life open house event on Sunday, March 30 at the American Legion located at 110 Kelly Street, Rome City, Indiana from 10am until 4pm.
Young Family Funeral Home, Kendallville Chapel, 222 South State Street is assisting the family with arrangements.
