Larry Wayne Collins, 85, of Brimfield, Indiana, died Friday, January 16, 2026, at his residence surrounded by his loved ones.

He was born June 29, 1940, in Muncie, Indiana, to Wayne and Nila G. (Snodgrass) Collins.

On July 27, 1966, in Lisbon he married Loretta Gaye Woody.

Mr. Collins retired from Walker Manufacturing in Ligonier and had previously worked at Starcraft in Goshen for several years.

Larry honorably served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1958 to 1962.

He was a member of Mercy Tree Ministries in Kendallville, American Legion Post 381 in Rome City, Kendallville Legion Riders, and Patriot Guard Riders.

Larry's hobbies included riding motorcycles, bird watching, reading, and watching Western movies.

Surviving are four sons, Sherman Hicks of Wawaka, Travis (Kay) Hicks of Kendallville, Michael (Jackie) Collins of Muncie, and Timothy (Tamra) Collins of Muncie; two daughters, Janice Kauffman of Wawaka and Andrea (Howie) Miller of LaGrange; 14 grandchildren, Carl (Kathy) Ritchie, Marion Ritchie, Ryan Kauffman, Shane Campbell, Travis Hicks, Jr., Larry (Mackenzie) Hicks, Joshua (Laura) Collins, Corey (Ashtyn) Collins, Christian (Katherine) Collins, Brandon (Christina) Collins, Lyndsey Kelly, Annie (Casey) Jones, Ashley Kinsey, and Cole (Katy) Kinsey; several great-grandchildren; two brothers, Michael (Karen) Collins of Anderson and Perry (Karla) Collins of Muncie; and a sister, Lisa Collins of Muncie.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Loretta Collins on June 27, 2023; a son, Wesley Hicks; daughter, Inez DePew; daughter-in-law, Mindy Hicks; son-in-law, Levi Kauffman; three grandchildren, Tracy Campbell Freebe, Andrew Skylar Hicks, and Wesley Sherman Hicks; and a great-granddaughter, Brylenna Felix.

Visitation will be Wednesday, January 21, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Young Family Funeral Home, Kendallville Chapel, 222 South State Street, Kendallville.

Larry's funeral service will be Wednesday, January 21, 2026, at 12 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Josh Pfeiffer officiating.

Burial will follow at Orange Cemetery, Rome City. Honor Guard services will be provided by the Veterans Honor Guard and active duty members of the U.S. Marine Corps.

Pallbearers are Joshua Collins, Christian Collins, Ryan Kauffman, T.J. Hicks, Howie Miller, and Bill Woody.
