Funeral services will be Thursday, February 19, 2015 at 1 p.m. in Young Family Funeral Home, Kendallville Chapel, 222 South State Street, Kendallville. Burial will be in Lake View Cemetery, Kendallville.

Calling is Thursday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the funeral home.

L. Marie Strater, 90, of Kendallville died Saturday, February 14, 2015 at 3:30 p.m. in her residence.

She had lived in Woodruff and Kendallville.

Mrs. Strater was owner and operator of Marie's Fabrics in Kendallville from 1970 to 1994.

She was born February 23 1924, in Kendallville to Noah Thurman and Edna (Diffendarfer) Leitch.

On October 25, 1946, in Churubusco she married Robert Byron Strater. He preceded her in death on August 30, 2013.

Surviving are two daughters, Glenna Mae Becker of Fort Wayne and Rita Derrow of LaOtto; four grandchildren, Cristalle (Ben) Kline of Kendallville, Michelle (Chris) Gibson of Roanoke, and twins, Steve (Michelle) Becker of Fort Wayne and Summer Becker of Fort Wayne; four great granddaughters, Madison Kline of Kendallville, Hayley Kline of Kendallville, Drew Becker of Decatur, and Allison Becker of Fort Wayne.

She was also preceded in death by a son, Robert C. Strater; two brothers, Vern Allen Leitch and Laurell Leitch; and a sister, Vera Applegate.

Funeral services will be Thursday, February 19, 2015 at 1 p.m. in Young Family Funeral Home, Kendallville Chapel, 222 South State Street, Kendallville, with Rev. Sherri Long officiating. Burial will be in Lake View Cemetery, Kendallville.

Calling is Thursday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the funeral home.
