Kim A. Simmons, 64, of New Castle, Indiana, and formerly of Kendallville died Wednesday, November 22, 2023, at IU Health University Hospital in Indianapolis.

He was born June 24, 1959, in Kendallville to Alfred E. and Lois M. (Myers) Simmons.

On April 21, 2000, in Las Vegas, Nevada he married Annette (High) Spuller.

Kim was a plant manager for Grede Foundry in New Castle.

He enjoyed golfing and was a fan of the Chicago Bears and the St. Louis Cardinals. He dearly loved his family and will be remembered for his contagious laugh.

Surviving are his wife, Annette Simmons of New Castle; his children, Fawn Storm of Fort Wayne, James Spuller of Fort Wayne, Kimberly (Matt) Desper of Kendallville, and Jeff (Jenny) Ley of Pendleton; five grandchildren, Collin, Landon, MaKenna, Lilly, and Liam; three sisters, Marge Weber of Kendallville, Julie (Bill) Yates of Kendallville, and Kelly (Bill) Walkup of Kendallville; a brother, Michael (Ann Marie) Simmons of Indianapolis; several nieces and nephews including a special great-niece, Prinie; his best friend since age 5, Stan Schmidt of Kendallville; three bonus sons, Shane Beckley, Ryan Sorrell, and Brian Wright; a special friend, Tom Rainesalo; and his beloved dog, Sally.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Michele "Mickey" Simmons and Monica Martin; a nephew, Clay Helmkamp; and a niece, Misty Simmons.

Funeral services will be Friday, December 1, 2023, at 2 p.m. at Young Family Funeral Home, Kendallville Chapel, 222 South State Street, Kendallville.

Visitation will be Thursday, November 30, 2023, from 3 to 7 p.m. and one hour prior to the funeral services on Friday all at the funeral home.
