Kenneth E. Deam, 80, of Wolcottville, Indiana died unexpectedly on Sunday, October 18, 2026, in the emergency room at Parkview LaGrange Hospital in LaGrange.

He was born July 19, 1946, in Ossian, Indiana to Charles and Helen (Lockhart) Deam.

On March 27, 1971, in Poneto, Indiana, he married Janis L. Harrold. She preceded him in death on October 14, 2022.

He had served in the Army National Guard and was a Mason.

Mr. Deam was a salesman for Snap-on Tools. He enjoyed fishing, camping, tinkering with cars, mowing the yard, watching NASCAR, and attending tractor pulls and demolition derbies. In his younger years, he enjoyed racing at Baer Field Speedway in Fort Wayne.

Above all, he cherished spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who brought him great joy.

Surviving is a daughter, Natalie Batten of Punta Gorda, Florida; a son, Nathan Deam of California; four grandchildren, Marina (Frankie) Lopez, Mason Chamblee, Braydon Batten, and Olyvia Deam; four great-grandchildren, Catallia Lopez, Jericho Lopez, Ingrid Lopez, and Hazel Lopez; two sisters, Carol Weimer of Avilla and Janet Schocke of Kendallville; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was also preceded in death by his father, Charles Deam and his mother, Helen Deam Pio.

There will be no visitation or services.
