Kendall Newton Smith, 66, of Ashley, Indiana, died Sunday, June 12, 2022, at his residence. He was born June 3, 1956, in Kendallville, Indiana, to Charles "Bud" and Ruth (Carter) Smith. He was a graduate of East Noble High School. Kendall retired after 35 years with the B&O Railroad where he was an engineer. He also worked for Aaron Holman as a transport driver. Surviving are a sister, Pam Hanes of Waterloo; a brother, Carter Smith of Waterloo; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; and two sisters Melinda "Linda" Napier and Sherrill "Sherry" Vaughn-Eash. There will be no visitation or services. Burial will be in Lake View Cemetery, Kendallville. Young Family Funeral Home, Kendallville Chapel, 222 South State Street, Kendallville is assisting the family with arrangements.
