Kay Ann Gaerte Riddle, 90, of Albion, Indiana, went to be with her Lord and Saviour on Saturday, March 8, 2025, at Orchard Pointe Health Campus in Kendallville.

Mrs. Riddle was a lifetime area resident. She had worked over 20 years as a grain merchandiser and bookkeeper at Gaerte Grain in Kimmell.

She was a member of Merriam Christian Chapel. She played the organ or the piano for church services and tent meetings since the age of 13. She taught Sunday School and Bible School for many years. She also served as missions secretary and a deaconess at the church plus participating in the ladies Bible study.

She was born January 20, 1935, in Albion, Indiana, to Max E. and Beulah (Bowman) Young.

She married Richard D. Gaerte in 1954 in Albion. He preceded her in death in 1982. She then married Carl F. Riddle in 1993 in Albion and he preceded her in death in 2020.

Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and Dan Fortman of Avilla; two sons and daughters-in-law, David and Laura Gaerte of Albion and Donald and Vickie Gaerte of Albion; a daughter-in-law, Ann Gaerte of Albion; 11 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and a sister, and brother-in-law, Karene and David Sanford of Colorado Springs, Colorado.

She was also preceded in death by a son, Douglas Gaerte.

Visitation is Saturday, March 15, 2025, from 12:30 p.m. to 3 p.m. at Merriam Christian Chapel, 3985 S US Highway 33, Albion.

The funeral service is Saturday, March 15, 2025, at 3 p.m. at the church with Pastor Steve Pulley officiating.

Burial will follow at Merriam Christian Cemetery.

Pallbearers are Joshua Gaerte, Heath Gaerte, Jeremy Gaerte, Ryan Gaerte, Tom Fortman, and Brent McCoy.

Memorials may be made to Gideons International for the purpose of distributing God's Word around the world or to Merriam Christian Chapel.
