Obituary

Karen Sue (Weaver) Growcock, 80, of Wolcottville died Tuesday, December 19, 2017, at 5:35 a.m. at Lutheran Life Villages, Kendallville.

She was born October 14, 1937, in Wawaka to Frank and Alberta (Francis) Weaver.

On June 17, 1956, in Cosperville she married Robert K. "Bob" Growcock. He survives in Wolcottville.

Mrs. Growcock had worked at the Twin Six Restaurant and the IGA, both in Wolcottville, and was a farmer's wife.

Karen enjoyed traveling, hunting mushrooms, crossword puzzles, camping, and spending winters in Florida. But, most of all, she loved spending time with her family.

Also surviving are a daughter, Karla Growcock of Blackman Lake; two sons, Kevin (Jackie) Growcock of Stroh and Kent (Amy) Growcock of Adams Lake; three grandsons, Justin (Jessi) Growcock of Wolcottville, Markus (Heather) Evenson of Adams Lake, and Mitchell (Amanda) Evenson of Fort Wayne; four great-granddaughters, Kylie Growcock, Alexia Growcock, Hailie Evenson, and Riley Evenson; a great-grandson due in February; and a brother, David Weaver of Royer Lake.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Kenny Growcock; two brothers, Grover Weaver and Richard Weaver.

A memorial service will be Saturday, December 23, 2017, at 5 p.m. at Young Family Funeral Home, Wolcottville Chapel, State Road 9 North Wolcottville, with Pastor Mike Hamm of the Stroh Church of Christ officiating.

The family will receive friends on Saturday from 1 to 5 p.m. at the funeral home.
